Red Hawk Sanctuary is a secluded gem nestled among beautiful oak and manzanita trees. This sacred 4.5-acre peaceful retreat invites rest, reflection, and reconnection—with nature, with spirit, and with yourself. Whether you are visiting to host a healing gathering, for a solo retreat or a quiet getaway with loved ones, the land and property are here to hold and welcome you.
The modern 3-bedroom, 2-bath home designed by an award-winning architect has an open, spacious floor plan and a 30 foot wall of north facing windows with gorgeous panoramic views of the trees and hillside. The cathedral ceilings, 3 skylights, and light wood floor and finishes allow for a feeling of open spaciousness.
The home sleeps up to 12 guests comfortably (camping spots may be available for a few additional guests). It has central heat and air conditioning for year round comfort as well as a gas fireplace for additional warmth and ambience.
Just beyond the doors are a large back deck perfect for relaxation during the day and enjoying Julian’s incredible night sky after sunset. On clear nights, you can see the Milky Way with the naked eye and bathe under the healing starlight. Step down onto the last and enjoy paths for walking and forest bathing, a meditation grove, ceremonial fire circle, a medicine wheel for prayer, and a seasonal creek and pond.
For group retreats and gatherings, a 572 sq ft ceremonial yurt is also available—made specifically for sacred gatherings—and featuring a large, gorgeous labyrinth for additional contemplation and healing magic. This sacred space features 4 large windows and a skylight allowing for a very expansive feel and immersion in the healing nature all around. It has a mini-split for heating and cooling, which allows for year round comfort.

Please help conserve energy by moderating heating, air conditioning, and gas fireplace use, which all run on propane
No smoking indoors and only safe use outdoors being mindful of fire risk
No recreational drug or substance use on property
Shoes off inside the house and ceremonial yurt
No loud parties or amplified music, noise travels very easily in the mountain area
Property not ideal for pets or kids given wilderness type outdoors, but we can discuss and possibly accommodate
Outdoor fire circle only season and weather conditions permit (not during high fire risk times)
Respect and care for our home/property, the land, animals, and neighbors
Staying within property boundaries and no trespassing onto neighbors’ land
Julian is a designated international dark sky community, please be mindful of light pollution and turn off lights when out or asleep

60 miles from downtown San Diego
Small neighborhood markets for staples and basic food supplies, nearest big grocery stores are in Ramona, about a 30 mins drive
Julian is a small mountain town with a handful of restaurants, sweet tourist shops, wineries, and other attractions
Plentiful hiking/walking trails as well as gorgeous sunrise and sunset view points nearby
Property is on an old country access road, 4WD necessary in snow conditions
Parking for about 10 vehicles
Good cell service with most carriers (At&T, T-Mobile, Sprint) on the property but may be spotty for a few, Julian town has good cell service
