“We had the profound privilege of bringing a group to Red Hawk Sanctuary for a healing workshop, and the experience was truly beautiful in every way. From a logistical standpoint, everything was seamless—coordinating our stay was easy, the home was beautifully set up with a well-equipped kitchen, making meal preparation effortless, and there was plenty of comfortable space for our guests to rest and rejuvenate.
But what truly sets Red Hawk Sanctuary apart is the land itself—the energy here is deeply grounding, powerful, and peaceful. Every aspect of the space, from the ceremonial yurt and fireplace to the thoughtfully maintained trails, is infused with care, intention, and reverence, honoring the plants, animals, and landscape that serve as guardians and teachers.

“I have held 2 retreats at the Red Hawn Sanctuary in Julian and have had great experiences in both instances. The property has a great feel to it and is really beautiful. It’s very private and peaceful and surrounded by nature.
The best part in my experience is the large Yurt. This beautiful, round ceremonial structure with bright light and airflow provided plenty of room for our group to gather. It was very comfortable and perfect for a spiritual retreat. The house is suited to easily sleep 12 people and there are several designated spots for camping for anyone who prefers to rest in nature.
The attention to detail on the land, in the yurt and in the house really enhanced the experience. We are looking forward to hosting another retreat this year!”

“My college friends get together every year for a mini-reunion and this year was my turn to pick the location. When I saw Red Hawk Sanctuary, I knew this magical place would be perfect.
From the stylish and comfortable great room with floor to ceiling windows framing the native oaks to the well-appointed kitchen where we cooked together to the spacious deck with both a dining table and a seating area, the house was ideal for entertaining and relaxing.
We took walks through the wooded area to enjoy the sunset rock promontory and used the sanctuary as our base to hike on the many trails around Julian. Highly recommend! ”
